"I took my car in for annual inspection and to get the heat fixed (before the cold of winter hits!) on a Thursday morning. Wayne's Garage was quick to call me back and let me know what work was needed - they also emailed me a work order detailing everything out. They said everything would be done by the next day (Friday) end of day. It was way more $ than I expected, but it is an older car (2002) that I don't put many miles on but need for daily and local use. So I had them do all suggested repairs. While working on these repairs, another issue came up unexpectedly (a previous garage had used the product Stop Leak to "fix" a leak but only temporarily) so Wayne's called me back with the update and added expensive. However, they were pretty short on the phone. I often wish car repair people would be more courteous and patient on the phone and also willing to explain repairs to someone who isn't familiar with auto repair stuff, which I feel is most people. Wayne's probably does this better than most places, but still customer service could be improved. Much like how doctors need to work on explaining medical terminology to their patients in a way that is informative, respectful, and understanding. I dunno, is that too much to ask for? Especially since repair shops have a bad reputation to overcome (one of swindling people out of money for unnecessary repairs or unfair prices)."
